Lesson Topic: Mt. Sinai!
Isaiah 34:16 – Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and Read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and His spirit it hath gathered them. The Holy Bible is first and foremost our compass! The other books that were taken out of the 1611 Holy Bible including the Apocrypha, and the ones that are mentioned in it (Jasher & Enoch), we use as another study tool.
2nd Edras 14:1-6 – Vs. 1 And it came to pass upon the third day, I sat under an oak, and, behold, there came a voice out of a bush over against me, and said, Esdras, Esdras. 2 And I said, Here am I, Lord And I stood up upon my feet. 3 Then said He unto me, In the bush I did manifestly reveal Myself unto Moses, and talked with him, when My people served in Egypt: 4 And I sent him and led My people out of Egypt, and brought him up to the mount of where I held him by Me a long season, 5 And told him many wondrous things, and shewed him the secrets of the times, and the end; and commanded him, saying, 6 These words shalt thou declare, and these shalt thou hide. Here, the Most HIGH reminded Edras (Ezra) of how He visited Moses and had Redeemed His people, and also given him some valuable knowledge to share and hide. Today, we’re gaining knowledge of these published valuables that the HOLY Father had commanded His servants to Share!!!
Jubilees 4:26 – For the LORD hath four places on the earth, the Garden of Eden, and the Mount of the East (Mt. Nebo – Deut. 32:49), and this mountain on which thou art this day, Mount Sinai (Mt. Horeb), and Mount Zion which will be sanctified in the new creation for a sanctification of the earth; through it will the earth be sanctified from all (its) guilt and its uncleanness throughout the generations of the world. These are the four locations the Most HIGH had ordained for Himself.
Exodus 19:17-20 – Vs. 17. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. 18. And Mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. 19. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. 20. And the LORD came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up. The Most HIGH visited His people on Mt. Sinai (Mt. Horeb)!!!
1st Corinthians 10:4 – And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. The Apostle Paul is referencing our people in the wilderness who were following the way to Yasha Christ!
Psalm 68:17 – The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place. The Protection of the Most HIGH is around His people!!!
Bonus Scripture: 2nd Kings 6:17 – And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
2nd Bonus Scripture: Zechariah 2:5 – For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.
Exodus 3:12-15 – Vs. 12. And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. 13. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is His Name? What shall I say unto them? 14. And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and He said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is My Name forever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. The Most HIGH gave Moses His Name to give to His people who was in bondage (Egypt) at the time; to confirm who gave Moses the message to give unto them.
Exodus 14:3-4 – For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in. 4. And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians may know that I am the LORD. And they did so. Let His Will Be Done!!!
Exodus 13:17-18 – Vs. 17. And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt: 18. But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt. The HOLY Father provided another route out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Exodus 3:1 – Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. The mountain of GOD aka Mt. Horeb, aka Mt. Sinai, aka the Mountain of Laws.
Exodus 2:21-25 – Vs.21. And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter. 22. And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land. 23. And it came to pass in process of time that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. 24. And God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them. While Moses started a new chapter in his life, a new chapter for the children of Israel had also started with the new king of Egypt; they were going through a very hard time under this king. The Most HIGH had heard and seen the treatment of His people, and remembered His Covenant with them.
Acts 7:29-30 – Vs. 29. Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Midian, where he begat two sons. 30. And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. Brother Stephen reiterated the testimony of Moses and the burning Bush!
Galatians 4:25 – For this Agar (Hagar) is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. Here, Apostle Paul is showing us where Mt. Sinai is located.
The book of Josephus: The Complete Works - Antiquities of The Jews pgs.98 & 99 Chapt.5 – Now Moses called the multitude together, and told them that he was going from them unto Mount Sinai to converse with GOD; to receive from him, and to bring back with him, a certain oracle; but he enjoined them to pitch their tents near the mountain, and prefer the habitation that was nearest to GOD, before on more remote. When he had said this, he ascended up to Mount Sinai, which is the highest of all the mountains that are in that country.
Galatians 1:17-21 – Vs. 17. Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. 18. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. 19. But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. 20. Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. 21. Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; Paul went to different places including Arabia to preach the Truth.
The Book: In Search of The Mountain of GOD pg. 217 – We took great satisfaction in knowing we’d helped draw a new line in the sand concerning the Exodus route. If nothing else, we’d proven to ourselves that the Bitter Lakes were not the Red Sea crossing point, nor Jebel Musa the real Mount Sinai. pgs. 218-219 – “Here is a fascinating place. Its features make us believe it is Mount Sinai, but we don’t have anything to prove it. All my photographs, maps, notebooks, etc. were confiscated by the Saudi military. The mountain is called Jabal al Lawz. It sits in the middle of a military reservation, fenced in by chain link and barbed wire.”
